Raikeya Collins, LPC-S
Raikeya J. Collins is a Licensed Professional Counselor under the
umbrella of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and
a Board approved licensed Supervisor (LPC-S).
Collins has been proactive in the mental health and counseling field for over
14 years, and has extensive experience working with various populations with
diverse issues. Raikeya specializes in the following areas, but are not limited
to those areas: Relationship Building, Couple’s Counseling, Christian Counseling,
Crisis Intervention, Grief/Loss Therapy, Anger Management, Adjustment, Academic
Skills, Women Empowerment, the severe and persistent mental illnesses (e.g.
Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, &
Schizoaffective), Anxiety Disorders, and Eating Disorders.
enjoys working with students, helping them cultivate relationships, pursue
academic success & excellence, and resolve conflicts. Raikeya made history
on Prairie View A&M University campus as being one of the first Counselors
to work in the newly developed and groundbreaking Student Counseling Services
department. Raikeya quickly gained the attention of the university students
with her most popular weekly group called 'The Relationship Group' held every
Wednesday. Due to her passion of relationship building, Raikeya went on to
develop, organize, and spearhead the 'Love, Sex, & Relationships'
Conference with over 700 students in attendance. The following year she
developed and spearheaded a women empowerment conference called 'Leading Ladies
Empowerment Conference' with Susan L. Taylor of Essence Magazine as the keynote
With her broad
specialty areas, Raikeya recognizes the importance of being girded in
compassion and empathy. Raikeya takes a non-judgmental approach to therapy. She
realizes that some individuals may face major life changes that alter their
perspective on life, and may have a direct effect on their mental, emotional,
and spiritual well-being. Raikeya endeavors to provide the best possible therapeutic
approach with each client. Raikeya Collins focuses on the total Wellness of an
individual including the social, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. She
recognizes the importance of being girded in compassion and empathy.
